Sharp picture, great contrast
It’s a no-frills TV in terms of “smart” features, and that’s exactly what I wanted. The contrast (coming from an older LCD) is far, far better. If you’re smart and don’t care if a TV is thin or light and doesn’t have netflix built in, it’s hard to beat this TV for the price. Loads of customization controls for the picture, as well.
You do have to control the ambient light in your room to eliminate the glare, which is a problem with any TV, but more so with a plasma than it is an LCD. Some inexpensive blackout curtains (also from amazon) take care of it pretty well.

Wow! Fabulous PRICE, Great picture and sound. Having it hooked up to a HarmonKardon system for an even better movie watching experience! After purchasing this to replace my SAMSUNG 50″ Plasma due the the screen going black while sound still coming thru, found out that there’s a class action suit regarding capacitors & reviewed list to find that my model was listed!!! Called, they sent out a repair man who replaced the whole power supply board ((in 15 mins)) So now I have 2 50″ plasmaTV’s
Mom loves this TV
LG has made a nice slick looking tv. My mom loves it. The photo is nice and clear and the sound is good too. I can say the sound is better than the panasonic plasma that i have at my house. Not a bad buy. The shipping was fast and very stealthy. The shipper delivered it to my neighbor since my mom was not home. (that Ok.).

Amazing plasma tv
I’ve had this tv for about a week and it is amazing. The picture quality is better than my bravia 1080p 120hz 46 inch (which has been moved to the bedroom). I have the lg in the corner of my living room and the side viewing angles on this plasma is as good as in front of the tv (downfall of a lcd/led tv). I would recommend this tv.
Great price and quality
If you have had a high-end plasma television, then you will notice a difference in the picture quality from that to this. Nonetheless, the picture is still very good and when considering the price it becomes excellent. It has a number of setting options to optimize the picture quality to fit your desires. The speakers on the LG put out ample, clear sound. It has two HDMI ports, which is sufficient for my needs, though I wish it had another. Installation of the TV stand was simple and quick.
If you’re looking for a TV at a relatively cheap price that provides an above average picture on a large scale, then this is the TV for you. If not, then why are you here reading this?
Brilliant stunning picture!
This plasma TV has a bright, brilliant, stunning picture, with great definition, and no blurring or pixelating. No “streaky action”.
Very easy to set up (except, see below) just “plug & play”. But yes, those who like to monkey with stuff to get things “juuuust right” will find all the tools to do so. (Take a gander at fellow reviewer D.Debar’s excellent review for his suggestions on what to do here).
Sound is better than average, listen before buying that soundbar.
Now for the bad things (both minor): altho easy to set up, this thing weighs a ton (actually 0.029 of a ton, aka 58#, but let’s not quibble). It’s also rather unwieldy until set up. So, altho you will not need your “tech guy” to set this up, there will need to be two of you. And, if you want it wall-mounted, consider bring in that handy-man.
Next- glare. This is the trade off you get vs a LED (also LED’s use less power)- you need to have this in a place where you can control the glare during TV watching hours.
So, you get better picture than a LED TV of the same price. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Price is good.
OH, and they have to deliver this by a local freight co. Once I figured this out, it worked fine. But it’s too heavy for USPS, UPS, etc.
