Pretty good
this tv is perfect for a small room. Its got clear definition as it is 1080p for a 32 inch. If you are planning to get this for a big room like a livingroom or something, i would suggest something bigger. Its got many settings for your preference, i change them often when I watch movies or play videogames depending on the sound and color I want. I am pretty happy with it and definetly recommend it. One flaw is that the control takes a few seconds to send the signal so it is kind of slow… but its not that big of a deal.
Label Your Input Sources!! (Especially for PCs)
I’ve had this screen for 8 months and it has served me very well. I use it as my PC monitor and with my game consoles.
Something to be wary about is that to get this TV to function at its best takes some doing. The menus for adjusting the picture are a bit scattered, but the general picture controls will get your color where you need it to be. Personally, I don’t have any of the “motion lighting” features on as I don’t notice a significant difference beside the screen getting darker. Honestly the screen is probably fine if you’re just going to watch TV and aren’t picky about the colors being perfect. And if you are, it won’t take you too much to get there, just know you’ll need to spend some Time adjusting.
Now the biggest thing, which actually prompted this review, is that I have also been using this TV for my computer monitor. However, when the HDMI is connected to my PC, I had to scale down the desktop and work in a resolution less than 1080p or my the visuals would get cropped. The screen would also auto adjust contrast as the images changed on screen, which was horrid whenever I would edit images. I figured these were just what I was going to have to deal with using a TV as a monitor, as I did not see an option in the menus to remedy these.
Until today.
I was flipping through the menus fiddling with setting when I saw “source list” near the bottom. This setting in other TVs is usually just to assign names to your inputs for your organization pleasure. I figured since I was there I would label them. Source List->Edit Name. Lo and behold when I set my PC’s input to PC/DVI it not only labeled it, but actually changed the way the screen treated the input! The screen no longer auto adjusted contrast, and I didn’t need to scale my desktop to fit!
I felt silly that it was so simple and I’m sure it’s mentioned in the manual someplace, but it is not immediately obvious that this is what the setting does. So I thought I would post this review to maybe give a heads up to someone who might use this screen for the same purpose.
So yeah! I’m even more stoked with this screen now!
