Nearly perfect!!
Decided on this model due to reviews and in store experience with picture, and it has pic in pic. It doesn’t seem to allow my satellite remote to turn it on and off or to control volume, the itsy, bitsy green on light is nearly invisible from across the room.Other than that, this one is nearly perfect. I haven’t tried the smart TV functions since we live in an area without an easy, cheap Wi-Fi solution. Sound is amazing in a large room without added speaker help. Would recommend and wouldbuy again.
Fanfreakintastic! So nice I had to make a word splice
This TV is wonderful in 3D and 2D, I have had it for a couple of months and the only thing I found a problem with was auto light sensor. I think my room gets to much random light from various sources, however after turning that off flashing stopped.
As far as picture quality goes everyone has their own taste and I found that this TV met mine perfectly. I wish it had more then one timer, so I could have a weekend and weekday setting. I hope all those who have had a bad experience contact Sony, because they have great customer service. I can’t say the same for Vizio, enough said.

Great TV for the price
I bought this TV at a Sony store since it went on sale (price was only slightly higher than the current price on amazon). I did quite a bit of research on similarly priced and sized TVs (Panasonic, Sharp, Samsung, LG, Vizio) and this is basically the best one out of the bunch (IMHO) due to price, quality and features. Worked well out of the box with PS3 attached.
Passive 3D was pretty impressive (btw, these TV use passive 3D IPS panels manufactured by LG; the same guys that make screens for Apple products i.e. iphones, imacs, etc.). The TV came with 4 pairs of glasses. Color was great even with manufacturer settings as some of the other reviewers have stated. The black color is comparable to those on a plasma TV.
Thought Sony was down for the count when it came to TVs, but they managed to exceed expectations on this one. I would highly recommend it.
Excellent TV
I was debating between samsung 8000 series and this TV. Former is about 7K. After reading the reviews for this tv I took the plunge and am I happy that I did that!. This is an excellent TV. Price is really good also. Picture quality is superb, I did not have to tweak any settings (as opposed to Sharp, which I was contemplating, where again and again common theme had been to tweak the settings). “Soap Opera effect” is there but not really bothersome (to me). My only gripe, if I may, is that the processor is a bit slow and it takes may be a few seconds more to load internet content (not a deal breaker by any means). Finally Amazon never fails to meet my expectations. delivery was on time and superb, the guys set it up in no time (no extra cost).

I bought the 70″ 3D Internet model, as I have a huge wall to fill, and the price was great. Amazon did a great job of delivering and setting up the TV. The two delivery guys were very courteous and took the box and packing materials with them. There is some fade when viewing the screen from the side. Is there a way to correct this in the set up or is this something that LCD’s do?
There’s another issue that I can’t figure out. This TV was to come with one free year of Netflix. The instructions say to hit the “SEN” button on the remote control and “navigate to the Promotional Offer App., then to input your email address then check your email to receive your referral code”. The only thing is that there is NO Promotional Offer App available. I have tried numerous times but it’s just not there. Has anyone out there had the same problem in setting up the Netflix offer? There’s also a free year offer for Hulu Plus and a one month free offer for Music Unlimited, which I haven’t tried to set up yet.
I’ll add additional reviews after I have had the TV longer.
