Vizio-Great Smart TV, Reasonable Price!!
I bought this Vizio 55″ smart TV after researching all of the major brands and models (Sony, Samsung, Sharp, LG, etc.). After traveling to numerous stores to see the actual TVs and picture quality, I chose this wonderful TV that equaled and often bettered the name brands at, in many cases, half the price or less. Setup from box to live only took five minutes. The wi-fi connection was a breeze and now I can watch my Baylor Bears Football with amazing size and clarity. This model replaced my 50″ Sony. Given the price, quality and options, I will take Vizio over all of them!

This tv is exactly what I expected, from reading all the previous reviews from other owners. The picture is perfect. However, the sound is about what you would expect from a flat screen tv. Once you are used to listening to a conventional tv, its hard to get used to flat screen tv sounds. It’s not a bad sound quality-just one you have to get accustomed to. I would recommend this tv and would probably purchase it again. Actually, I would most likely buy a larger screen(bigger is better).

I am watching more Netflix and Amazon movies than ever now that I have one button access to both. I am not a videophile and my standards would probably not live up to some people’s but I think the picture is awesome! Setup was a breeze! I have this in my man-cave/workout room mounted high on the wall and it is so sweet.
Amazing TV
AS expected, VIZIO didn’t let me down. Great TV at a great Price. Once you mess around with the settings to get that perfect picture this TV is just as good if not better than TV’s that are double the price. The slim border looks nice too. Only negative I had was that when playing movies over any of the apps the sound will not come through the surround sound due to the TV needing an audio out jack. You have to set it up as another source and switch sources on your audio. You will need a digital optical audio cable which you can buy for less than $10.

Wow was I surprised ar the quality of this TV! Only $198? And a smart TV to boot? Was expecting much but am just thrilled. Excellent picture quality and i love the menu functions that allow precise adjustments. The built-in wifi amazing as well. So simple to access my netflix and amazon prime and bam! I am streaming. We are planning to get a larger set same brand an style for family room.
Love the Vizio so far
We had a Phillips first but love the quality of the Vizio and picture/sound much better. I have a smaller Vizio and was always happy with it. I just hope it will last us just fine because the box looked like it was not handled very well, especially for electronics. It had several visual damages (the box). They need to protect the screen on the inside of the box better as well, it had no Styrofoam in front of it at all.

I bought this TV after looking at other manufacturers with TVs that have similar features. I’ve been using it for two weeks.
I’ve owned Vizio products before and I haven’t had a single problem with them.
There are a lot of the connectors are on the left side of the TV. This was a little bit of a problem for me because all of the things I want to connect to it are on the right side of the TV. I just needed to use longer cables, not much of an issue.
I connected a coaxial antennae to the TV, scanned the channels and was watching OTA HD in minutes.
I connected to the internet through WIFI setup was painless and easy! Ethernet cable connection is plug and play.
The SMART TV functionality is nice. A lot of the same features (Amazon instant video, netflix, etc) can also be done with my XBOX360, but I’d rather only have one device on (instead of two). This TV is very low power so it doesn’t heat up my room as much as my old LCD tv + XBOX360.
Now onto the TVs display.
Out of the box, the TV didn’t need any tuning at first glance. I was watching a college football game (Georgia bull dogs vs Clemson Tigers) You could tell the difference easily between the Deep red of Georgia and the deep orange of Clemson. I was in a sports bar watching a replay of the game and you couldn’t tell the difference. Big points for out of the box tuning.
This TV has some really deep blacks. It’s especially noticeable when the screen goes dark between scene transitions in a movie. If the TV is the only source of light in the room, the room will go pitch dark.
All in all, it’s a good buy. Amazon beat the price of my local walmart/best buy/etc.
